A young girl in a pink shirt has been interviewed by CNN for a story about her parents’ recent hospitalization.
The story begins with the young girl walking around with a bandage on her head and asking a reporter for her name.
“Why are you asking my name?” she asks.
“I’m just a little girl.”
The reporter explains that her parents have just had a brain hemorrhage and are in need of an urgent emergency room visit.
“Are you saying you don’t know what you’re talking about?” she questions.
“No, I do.”
The girl says, “But I have an uncle.”
She continues, “He’s a doctor.
He’s been doing brain surgery for about six months.”
The story goes on to tell how the young man’s family members were worried he might have a brain tumor and had him referred to a local hospital, only to discover that the tumor had been removed and the young doctor had been operating on his own.
The reporter asks the girl if she remembers when her parents were hospitalized.
“Yes, we were in a very serious situation,” she replies.
“My father had a stroke, and he was taken to a hospital.
We were at a very advanced stage of recovery.
And he was admitted to the hospital.
And my mom was very busy.
I was at home, doing other things.
So I didn’t remember.
But I know that when my parents went to the emergency room, they were in such a terrible state.
And it was a really scary situation.
And I was there and I could see everything.
And then I got to the ER, and I saw my mom.
And that was the end of it.
I could only see my mom and I was crying.”
“I know what happened to you.”
She says, pointing to the back of the room.
“And you’re a good little girl, you know?”
“What’s your name?” the reporter asks.
The girl tells the reporter that she is called Maddy.
“What are you going to say to my parents?” she says.
“We’re not saying anything to you.
But please don’t touch my mom.”
The interviewer continues to ask questions.
When the girl says that she wants to go home, she asks if she can call her mom back, but her mom tells her she doesn’t want to speak to anyone until they’re ready to talk.
“Okay,” the reporter says, and then the camera cuts away.
The clip ends with a clip of the young boy, standing with his arm around his mother.
The video has a caption that reads, “You can’t hurt me.”
