Greek Olympic Committee approves a new medical center

VENICE, Spain – The Greek Olympic delegation has approved a new hospital and sports center at the Olympic Park in the northern part of the country, with construction to start in 2017.

The Greek delegation said on Monday that the new sports and medical center will be the largest in Greece and the largest facility of its kind in the world.

The new center will contain a training and medical facility, as well as a clinic, an operating room, a training area and an emergency room.

Greek President Michael Sitarakis has said the facility will be a major part of Athens’ recovery after a devastating earthquake in January that killed an estimated 40,000 people.

The construction is expected to take around two years.

The Athens Olympic Park is located in the suburb of Piraeus and is surrounded by the picturesque hills of northern Greece.

The site has a population of nearly 10 million.
